Poor, poor Glinda
Well, tonight I popped my cherry….as far as hitting a deer.
I was on my way to my mom’s. I was in the far left lane and there was a car in the right lane, about a car -length in front of me. All of a sudden a deer came running across the exit ramp, the lane next to me and into my lane. My view of the deer was obscured by the car next to me. I slammed on the brakes, but it was too late. The deer hit and was flung onto my windshield. Thankfully, the windshield held together and the car behind me was able to stop before it hit me. But Glinda did not escape damage:
And who is my mom most concerned about? Not me….no, I’m being treated as though I did this on purpose. Yes, I went out looking for a deer to hit, because I totally enjoy driving a car with damage to it.
<sigh> Oh sure, she’s a little glad that I’m okay – but she made it clear that I put her through a lot with this.
Monday, I’ll get the insides checked out, but the car is riding fine.

Ouch! Glad you’re okay, and the car looks fixable. Darn bambi!
Yikes! Not a good Friday.
(And weird: this is the second car-crash-type blog I’ve read today.)
Sorry about your car, but glad you escaped injury!
Crap! Glad your ok, but poor Glenda. LOL about your mother. My friends mother would do the same thing. I could be laying by the side of the road gasping my last breath and she would be trying to give the deer CPR LOL
Personally after that event for a Friday I would get supplies and seal myself in for a calm quiet weekend.
Take care,
Ron
So glad you’re ok, that had to be traumatic… Kinda looks like Bambi and Glinda had a rough first meeting. This sounds like a plot for a bad movie.
Hi Sweetie,
Sorry to hear about your deer incident. I showed the picture to the munchkins & The Prophet was very concerned for you. His first question was “Is she dead?” Thankfully you’re not!!
Sleepy Scott – yes, I think so. She seems to be driving fine (I’ll take her to my favorite garage Monday morning to see if she’s okay on the inside for sure). I just don’t want to open the hood myself and not be able to get it closed again. Never a dull moment here!!
Angel – Me too; cars are replaceable. I’m grateful that I escaped anything more than a bit of whiplash.
Ron – I hear ya. I pretty much did that – slept most of the day. Poor Glinda. Of course, the first car I truly love and this happens. Ah well. There’s a reason my friends compare me to Stephanie Plum.
One Wink – lol, you think just like I do, as you know.
Munchesmom – aww, tell the Prophet I said thanks!! Nope, not a scratch on me – God always takes good care of me.

So did the dear run away, or was it DRT? (Dead right there)
Your mom sure has a way of twisting every event so that it’s all about her, doesn’t she?
