Things you can’t tell just by looking at her Part II
Mo asked me if I was upset that the boy from #16 in the last edition did end up with a BBW after not dating me for all of that time, even though he clearly liked me. I said, no, high school is not where bravery lives most of the time. He wasn’t brave enough to go against society and what his friends thought – and I didn’t have the self-esteem that I do now. So, it’s all good.
17. I didn’t go to prom ever.
18. No one asked me to go.
19. I still served on the prom committee and helped do the decorating.
20. Honestly, I don’t think I missed anything.
21. That being said, high school was not a horrible experience for me. I was friends with many people in many cliques – band, cheerleaders, nerds.
22. I was terrified when it came time to graduate and do something else. My life had been so orderly and to get out of that routine scared the bejeezus out of me.
23. I had one best friend and was very upset when (as she was thin and pretty) she started to move in different circles than I did.
24. I was in the National Honor Society and held some sort of office in it – though I can’t remember what….
25. I played trumpet from 4th grade through 12th grade.
26. I hated marching band. But you had to be in marching band to be in symphonic band unless you had some reason not to be – like majorette, cheerleader, flags, or football player.
26. I chose to major in music in college because, well, no one else was. My parents were big on individuality – however, they hated my choice of music. Every day they would ask if I’d chosen a major yet.
27. My major never ever changed from Vocal Performance.
28. I graduated without really being able to read music still.
29. I’m an incredible mimic that way. I would just follow what everyone else did. Learn from cd’s.
30. Finally, when I was several years out of college, my voice teacher taught me how to read music.
31. I can sing in Latin, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Russian, Swahili (I’m not making it up – it’s pronounced just like it looks), Japanese, Swedish, and oh yeah, English. I can’t speak any of it but English though.
32. I did take 4 years of Spanish, 1 year of German, and 1 year of French. Nope, still just English here. Although, I can understand some of Spanish.
to be continued….

I did Spanish, German and French also and only have a little Spanish sticking around in my head.
Donde esta el bano? That’s all I know. And esta muy lejos?
Well it is very important to know where the bathroom is
ummm the other one… Are you asking where are your Leggo’s??
Lol, no, it’s is it far?
damn! that’s amazing you can sing on all those languages, Lawgirl. I am so impressed!
And prom is so overrated. really, it is. First time i ever got drunk was at the prom and i ended up making the biggest ass outtah myself and my date never spoke to me again! i guess carrying me home over his shoulder was not how he wanted to end the nite. oh well.
Great list! you are an incredibly talented woman, Lawgirl!
Have a great day!
I went to prom my senior year with my best friend Brian who I was also in love with. I thought it would be the best night ever but it sucked. Formal wear is not for me – I felt uptight and self-conscious all night. Brian and I had fun every time we were together throughout the six years we were best friends, except prom night.
Yeah, you missed nothing.
Katie – Lol, yeah, I’m guessing he was picturing the night ending another way, lol. You have a wonderful day as well.
D Bunny – I am with you on the formalwear – totally a jeans girl here.
